Goal setting: How to do well at school using Goal Maker
To do well at school using Goal Maker, set one specific goal for the term, then add the tasks that get you there. Here is an example.
Goal: Get a B or better in maths this term.
Start: the first day of term. End: the last day of term.
Tasks:
- Do the maths homework. Monday to Thursday, 4:30 PM, 45 minutes.
- Review this week’s class notes. Friday, 4:00 PM, 30 minutes.
- Do practice questions from past tests. Saturday, 10:00 AM, 1 hour.
- Ask the teacher about one thing you got stuck on. Wednesday, 12:30 PM, 10 minutes.
Make the goal specific. “Do well at school” is a start. “Get a B or better in maths this term” tells you which subject to work on and when to check.
Each task helps you reach the goal. Homework keeps you up to date. Practice questions get you ready for the tests.
To set it up in Goal Maker, add the goal with its start and end, then add each task with its days, start time and length. Open Goal Maker.
It is not a race. Tick off each task on the days it is due.
