Goal setting: How to make an app using Goal Maker
To make an app using Goal Maker, set one specific goal, then add the weekly tasks that get it built. Here is an example.
Goal: Make a simple to-do app and publish it on Google Play.
Start: today. End: three months from today.
Tasks:
- Build the app. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:00 PM, 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Plan the next feature. Sunday, 10:00 AM, 30 minutes.
- Test the app on your phone. Saturday, 10:00 AM, 1 hour.
- Show the app to one person and note what confuses them. Saturday, 3:00 PM, 30 minutes.
Make the goal specific. “Make an app” is a start. “Make a simple to-do app and publish it on Google Play” tells you what to build and when you are done.
Building is the main task. Planning, testing and showing it to people keep you building the right thing.
To set it up in Goal Maker, add the goal with its start and end, then add each task with its days, start time and length. Open Goal Maker.
It is not a race. Tick off each task on the days it is due.
